The Future of Housing

Research project

“The future of housing” is the theoretical part of my master thesis. An extensive research phase examined how the housing situation in European cities could develop by 2040. As part of this research, I conducted an international survey, spoke with the head of the German Museum of Architecture and conducted 9 user interviews. For evaluation, a summary profile has been created for each user. My results were compared with findings of other trend researchers and summarized in the book “The future of housing”.

The Future of housing is the theoretical part of my Master Thesis. I went through an extensive research phase that explored how the housing situation in European cities might develop until 2040. As part of that research, I undertook an international survey, spoke to the head of the German Museum for Architecture and conducted 9 user interviews with potential users. I asked questions about their living situation now and in the future. In order to present the results, I created a profile for each user that summarises what is most important to them and contains a proposal for what their perfect home.

The process of the work is documented here.
